The inevitability
Super-intelligent systems are no longer hypothetical. AI is moving from tool to autonomous agent. Coding, reasoning, decision-making are being automated in production environments. Intelligence is becoming abundant — and cheap.
This is not a debate about whether superintelligence arrives. It is a question of how soon, and what enterprises are doing to be ready when it does.

What is actually happening today
Across the enterprise landscape, the pattern is consistent. Copilots are being deployed across functions. Agents are entering workflows. Automation layers are stitched together from LLMs, vector stores, retrieval systems, APIs.
This looks like progress. In some ways, it is.
But beneath the surface the picture is different. There is no unified architecture. No system-level evaluation. No visibility into the decision chains that increasingly drive customer-facing outcomes. No clear ownership inside the operations teams that depend on these systems daily.
We are deploying increasingly intelligent systems into organizations that are structurally unprepared to handle them.
Adoption is accelerating faster than understanding. And the gap grows every quarter.

The wrong response
The traditional response to this — and the one being sold by most large tech consulting firms — is to add more AI. More copilots. More agents. More automation, layered onto operating models that were designed in a pre-AI era. Designed for stable software, ticket-based delivery, offshore scale, slow release cycles.
It looks like adoption. It produces inconsistency, fragility, and an unclear path to scale.
A second pattern compounds the first. The same firms position themselves as “experts.” They send senior consultants and bill premium rates for advisory engagements that promise to navigate the AI transition. But the truth most won’t say out loud is this:
There are no experts in this space yet. AI is evolving too fast. Best practices are not stable. Patterns change every quarter. You are paying for confidence — not capability.
What enterprises actually need is not more expertise. It is adaptive capability. The ability to learn faster than the environment changes.

The structural mismatch
The gap between what enterprises have and what they need is not a marketing problem. It is structural.
The traditional enterprise IT model was optimized for stable requirements, project-based delivery, offshore-heavy execution for cost arbitrage, periodic releases on quarterly timelines, and a clear separation between IT — which builds — and Operations — which uses.
AI systems are the opposite of every one of these. They are dynamic and context-dependent. They evolve continuously rather than ship in releases. They are non-deterministic — outputs vary with input, model state, retrieval quality. They are multi-step, multi-model, deeply interconnected. And they are most valuable embedded inside operations, not handed across an organizational boundary to them.
You cannot manage intelligent systems with a static delivery model.

Three changes
We believe the era of superintelligence will reward a different kind of organization. The work is to build it — before AI scales past the structure that’s holding it.

Structure
The traditional separation between IT and Operations is the first thing to break. In the AI-native enterprise, technology capability moves into operations — not next to it.
IT becomes slim and platform-shaped: infrastructure, integration, security, compliance, architecture. The work that benefits from centralization stays centralized.
But the actual work of building, evaluating, and improving AI systems moves inside operations. Embedded techno-operational experts — engineers who understand the business, operators who understand the technology — work alongside claims, underwriting, customer ops, supply chain, finance.
Every operations team becomes, in effect, a product and engineering team.

Process
The second change is about how processes get designed at all.
The traditional consulting playbook is convergent: gather requirements, design the “best” workflow, force standardization across teams, optimize slowly over years. Standardization happens before learning — because change was expensive, and the cost of running multiple variants was prohibitive.
That cost has collapsed.
Agentic systems make it cheap to run multiple workflow variants in production. Different teams, different geographies, different customer segments. Each can experiment within a context, learn from real outcomes, and converge on what actually works — instead of what looked best on a slide.
